Dear Lib's Place Friends,
There are so many new and exciting things happening at Lib’s Place that I just had to stop and drop everyone a note. I guess the most exciting news is our anticipated trip to Scotland for the Loch Lomond Quilting Festival-May 14 thru 24, 2012. If you are interested in going with us, please let us know. We will travel from the USA to London and then on to Glascow, Scotland. We will spend 4 days at the Loch Lomond Quilting Festival, where you may take classes, attend lectures, enjoy all of the many quilts or just sightsee. We will then travel to York for a couple of days of sightseeing. Next we will travel north east to Goathland and Whitby. Our last stop will be London where we will have the opportunity to visit the Buckingham Palace, Westminister Abbey, Big Ben plus we will have some time to shop. We will arrive back in the USA on May 24. During our stay, our lodging will be in first class inns and hotels, breakfast will be included during our stay in Scotland, 3 nights of dinner at a Bed and Breakfast in York, round trip airfare and train fare to and from York and entrance fees to the Quilt Festival. The cost is approximately $2,999.00 per person. You can contact us at (434) 392-Libs or check Roderick Tours, Ltd. out at http://www.rodericktours.com/. We need commitments of $300.00 now and $1,000 payment by Feb. 14 and the final payment by March 14. Come join us on this exciting trip!

Our shop has undergone a few changes that we can’t wait to tell you about. We have dressed up our gift section and are very proud to announce that we now have many new and exciting gift collections for your gift giving. We are offering the Willow Tree and Jim Shore lines and we also have lots of angels and snowmen-all shapes and sizes. Also in our gift section, we have garden and yard flags with door mats that match, and our bobble head yard ornaments are the cutest things you have ever seen. Our cornhole game section has been replenished and ready for your Christmas needs. If you are interested in placing a custom order for boards or bags, we must receive this information prior to Nov. 18th for a Christmas delivery.
Our yarn department now has its own room and is filled with lots of fall and winter color yarn; including Cascade yarns. We will be offering a knitting block of the month baby afghan beginning in February, 2012. Kits will be available for all that are interested in participating. We will be making twelve blocks with the prettiest primary color Cascade Pacific Yarns. It is 40% superwash merino wool and 60% acrylic; meaning it can be machine washed and dried. Each month you will be learning a new and exciting pattern. The kits will be available for pickup in late January.
Our fabric department has been growing. We have received many new collections and are expecting more within the next several weeks. We now have Bali Pops and Strips for your jelly roll patterns, and yes, we now have quilting, purse and tote patterns and placemat and table runner patterns. Our hand dyed fabrics (Batiks) department has taken over a whole wall. You have to see them! Our notions were low for a while but all the pegs are now filled and ready for you. If you are interested in making someone special a scarf or blanket, we have a great selection of fleece. We just ordered some new Virginia Tec and UVA fabric and it should be arriving within the next few days. We have also expanded our DMC/Sullivan’s floss inventory to include all available colors.
Upstairs has had a complete makeover and our recent customers like the new look. We even have several areas of items on sale. Most of our paints are 50% off and our entire candle selection is 30% off and our Christmas cards are $1.00 a box. Besides the sales items being upstairs, our stamping and scrapbooking department are overflowing, our Christmas decorations and ornaments are out and easy to see.
Our chocolates and Holiday candy molds have arrived and ready for your holiday chocolate pops and peanut butter cups. We also have several new books for your cupcake decorating and new tips for your cake decorating needs.
The jewelry making department is overflowing with new beads and findings. If you are a jewelry maker, check out our schedule of classes. We have a brace let class coming up that you don’t want to miss. I’m sure you will want to learn this technique.
EXCITEMENT IS IN THE AIR-HERE AT LIB’S PLACE. OUR CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE WILL BE NOVEMBER 18TH AND 19TH FROM 10:00 TILL 6:00 WITH LIGHT REFRESHMENTS. ALL PURCHASES WILL RECEIVE A 10% DISCOUNT DURING THESE TWO DAYS. SO COME ON DOWN AND SPEND SOME TIME WITH US.
